Born and raised in Toronto,  Bernice spread her wings ever so slightly and moved to Oakville to study Graphic Design at Sheridan College.  After graduating in 1984, she freelanced for several companies including Citytv/Muchmusic's design department.

In 1988 she spread her wings and flew to London, England.  While there she freelanced with numerous design consultants and also began her illustration career working with clients from corporate to packaging to editorial and published over 50 children's books.  Her "not-so children's" books and "12 Steps To Heaven" sold over 150,000 worldwide.

On her return in 1997, Bernice had been residing in Toronto and in 2015, she slightly spread her wings again and headed East to Westhill/Rouge area with her partner @dudemanart and their English Bullterrior, Alice.

While Bernice continues to illustrate, she is creating sculptures from vintage bowling pins into her most favorite iconic characters and is represented by Galerie Youn in Montreal.
