​Taras Lachowsky's current body of work is an extension of the examinations begun with the Vytmanka (Ukrainian paper cut-outs) study.  This body of work continues the narrative revolving around the post colonial discussions of belonging. 

 

As the son of Ukrainian Immigrants, Taras's current works are inspired by Vytynanka ideas and techniques , the symbolism of Vishyvanky (Ukrainian embroideries), and Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter Eggs) hence the title Stary Dumky or Old Thoughts.
